Engagement Process
How Magnolia Core onboards clients, conducts cost reviews, and delivers findings to growing companies.
Our engagements follow a consistent sequence so owners and finance leads know what to expect before work begins.
Discovery conversation
We discuss your growth stage, recent changes (hires, sites, products), and the decision you need to support. You share approximate employee count, site count, and data systems. We confirm whether a Cost Structure Review, Operational Cost Audit, or Pricing Model Review fits—or if another advisor is better suited.
Duration: 45–60 minutes, usually by video. No fee.
Written scope and fee
Within two business days we send an engagement letter outlining deliverables, timeline, fee, data requirements, and confidentiality terms. You approve scope before any billed work starts.
Data collection
You provide financial statements, headcount rosters, major contracts, and facility details through secure transfer. We schedule site visits or virtual walkthroughs. A single point of contact on your side speeds this phase.
Analysis and interviews
We map costs, review allocations, and interview managers who control spend categories. We flag data gaps early rather than delaying the draft deliverable.
Draft verification
Your finance lead reviews draft numbers for factual accuracy. We correct classification errors before the leadership presentation.
Delivery and follow-up
We present findings to owners and leadership, deliver written materials, and hold a follow-up Q&A within 30 days. Implementation remains your internal responsibility unless you separately request advisory hours.
Typical timelines
| Engagement | Calendar time |
|---|---|
| Cost Structure Review | 4–6 weeks from data receipt |
| Operational Cost Audit | 2–3 weeks |
| Pricing Model Review | 3–4 weeks |
Your team’s time commitment
Expect 4–6 hours from the finance lead across the engagement, plus 1–2 hours from each operational manager we interview. Owners typically attend discovery, the leadership presentation, and optional follow-up.
